This is an invitation to the opening of Northampton’s very own Food Library; a collection of books centred on growing, cooking, eating and drinking.
On January 25th 2020, between 11am & 4pm, The Food Library will open its doors for the first time as a reference library and space for putting the book collection’s many theories and practices into action.
Come and join us for a chat, a bite to eat and to sit down with a book or two. You will also be able to join as a member.
We have collected over 300 books to date, on subjects such as food growing, foraging, eating health, food sustainability, history, the curious, adventurous and creative, plus over 150 books of recipes from all over the world (see our book index online).
As well as a home for the book collection, The Food Library space is a working kitchen and garden; a lab, where we take books off shelves and use them as reference to create products, meals and events.
It costs £25 to join the library for the year, offering access to the books, talks and lunches, plus priority booking for our dining club and events and discounts on Food Library products.
We share our launch date with Chinese New Year, and Scotland’s Burns Night and as a nod to these annual celebrations we’ll be designing some intriguing canapés for you to try.

We hope to see you there,
